Hello Alexandra. Lovely colours and composition. The pigeons look really comfortable on their armchair. :>)
hello conspicari 🙂 glad you like the colors, I edited the shot with VSCO Kodak Porta colors preset, this is the closest to film I am for now :>))… we had some snow today and I went out with the idea to take some shot praising “the beauty of winter” lol… yet I was more attracted to this scene of beautiful decay :>))
VSCO does a good job with the film look. I would like try Kodak Porta film but it is quite expensive so it would have to be a special place. No snow here just Grey & drab as usual, but there may be sunshine tomorrow :>) I also like scenes of neglect and decay but they are getting harder to find in my town. :>)
hard to find scenes of neglect?! LOL, you should visit here…
you posting Thursday doors today? 🙂
Lol, I would like to visit Bulgaria one day, maybe it would be the place to use some Porta Film :>) Yes will probably post some doors a bit later, having to look through some of my old images. :>)
Lol, who knows, BG may be Porta-worthy 😄
I’m sure it would be. :>)
wonderful…love the juxtaposition…smiles hedy
thank you so much, Hedy, smiles right back atcha 😀
Ah ! Ah ! I love it 😉
ah, ah, I’m very happy, Philippe 🙂 thank you!!
Lovely colours. Must admit that I like the hashtag, as well. I have the VSCO app on my old phone, but I have never tried it.
thank you so much, Petter!! 🙂 I purchased 2 sets of VSCO presets for Photoshop Camera Raw and I have never used anything else ever since… not to mention that before that I was shooting only in jpg, now I shoot only in raw, just because of the VSCO… I just love the film-y look… you should give it a try if you have it on your phone 🙂
I shoot in raw as well, but I have never used any presets. I like the look, so maybe I will give it a go.
try first the free app, Petter, you shoot mainly in black and white and I rarely use the bw presets and don’t know if you will like them 🙂 the colors, however, are indeed fantastic… I posted a before and after edited only with VSCO’s general adjustments some time ago here: https://alexpavlova.com/2016/05/03/escape/ so you can see what it does…I like the result very much… btw, it would be interesting to see some of your photos in color 😀 thank you so much once again!! 🙂
Will do. You know black and white photo is like juggling with three balls – colour is like juggling with five……
as much as I am a sucker for colors, I admire black-and-white images even more, these take great skill… always lookin forward to your photos 🙂
Bulgarian pigeons are pampered ! 🙂
Are they watching TV ?
no TV for poor pigeons… lol, this is so funny, Fil, I’m belly laughing right now 😀 thank you!!
You know my appreciation of deserted places and this is great, Alex. The pigeons being there show the level of abandonment. I hope you’re having a great week. Cheers
oh, I know, Chris, I remember your gorgeous shots from those abandoned buildings that were about to be torn down… and this is why I am very happy you enjoy this shot… 🙂 actually, this is not in an abandoned area, saw this right next to a very busy street and a busy farmer’s market… back alleys are always more interesting 😀 thank you so much!!
Alley ways are very cool. I have many images of alleys!
thank you!! :>))
It’s not much of a home, but at least the chair is big enough for the both of them!
it takes an armchair and someone to share it with :>))
thank you, Francesca 🙂
I kinda knew you would like it, Ashley :>))
You take the most amazing photos, Alex. This is great–everyone needs a comfy chair!
Lois, thank you, this really means a lot ♥
❤ ❤ And it kind of looks like they're spying on the neighbors lol.
hahaha, this is a good one… 😀 thank you, Gaya!!
That’s a catch!! Great shot, Alexandra.
Indah, thank you so much ♥
I love this composition, and the colors! 🙂
yeah, the colors, right? 😉 thank you sooo much, happy you like the shot!!
What a capture!!
thank you so much for stopping by, Amy!! 🙂
I like the composition very much.
thank you, rabirius, happy 🙂
A comfortable nest 😉 I like this kind of “urbex” picture, well done!
thank you so much, Cédric 🙂 ha, “nest” is a great word to describe the shot as well!! every time I go out with the idea to take a shot of somethin beautiful I come back with a shot like this one lol 😀 but like you I like this kind of urbex pictures very much 🙂
Home sweet home, it’s all relative. Great shot Alexandra, they look as though they’re sitting on a golden throne!
absolutely, it’s all relative, we have a saying in Bg, the garbage to one is the treasure to another… so much truth there!
“a golden throne”… big smiles over here, thank you, Patti!!
Fantastic catch – Life amid Decay! If you can get in here any time you want, it sounds like a great place for more shots…
this is right out in the street, Kishore, the armchair was placed under a tiny shed next to the place where people pay utility bills… it’s not a house or anything… life amid decay, it looks so real and surreal at the same time, I’m happy you like it 🙂
Such a lovely inspirational photo, I love photos of birds!
thank you so much Mirjana, happy 🙂 this is interesting, I now realize I rarely take photos of birds, I think I have only yet one more, and that’s it…
