Sunny and -20 C

After a couple of days of heavy snowfalls, we had some sun today, which lured me outdoors… only to realize it is just the camouflage of a blistering cold wind… Still, I managed to snap a few random shots in the hood just before my fingers would freeze on the camera shutter… lol… Several conclusions come to mind now that I go through the shots:

Camera battery goes down much faster when it’s so cold. Maybe carry a pack of two next time, or maybe not and just quit and go home, take aspirin, hot shower and a glass of red wine, not necessarily in that order lol…

People are crankier when it’s so cold… I hold my camera at eye level, so with 35 mm lens I need to get real close, if I want to get a close-up, which was not a good idea every time… Not that there were many people in the streets today…

Will never wear mascara ever again if I have to be out in such tempratures for more than 30 minutes, it was all over my face when I got back home … no wonder people were cranky lol…

That waterproofer shoe spray paid off! But I need to figure out how to focus with gloves on, I had to take them off to be able to handle the camera, and the cold was unbearable… Any tips on this one?
