rainy on the first day of the rest of my life…
So edgy and soft at the same time.
“edgy and soft at the same time”… what a great observation! thank you, Jean!!
thank you, Rajiv!!
Wow… great shot for it’s timing and composition and for the perfect caption.
More than anything else, I can really appreciate it as it’s raining heavily outside and I am a little drenched while taking my daughter back from the play school 🙂
Have a beautiful day, Alexandra 🙂
thank you, Sreejith, hope you are getting some nice sun during the weekend to enjoy it with your daughter 🙂 good to hear from you again!!
We all need a little rain to keep things in check, and after all, there’s no harm singing and dancing in the rain. 🙂
Wonderful, beautiful photo, Alex.
always so much positive energy in your comments, Lignum… I need that… thank you 🙂
sweet and soft
thank you, Bernie… 🙂
Точно в ритъма на днешния ми ден!
днес ритъмът на всички ни май беше в такта на дъждовните капки, барабанящи по прозорци и улуци… благодаря, че намина Дани 🙂
You managed to turn a sad day into a beautiful picture.
Well done !
true, this has been a sad and crappy day for me…
staying busy, taking photos included, helps … a little…
Another beautiful BW photo. Good timing too, that little drop making its descent towards the ground. Looking closely, I think I can see a reflection in that tiny bubble of a figure. I really like what you did with the background there. It makes me wonder where the umbrella is…and who is holding it, if anyone’s holding it. And if it’s actually raining. What a mysterious photo 🙂
or it may not be raining and these could be tears…
now this is such an interesting comment, Mabel 🙂 well, when I took the picture it was raining… heavily… what I did though was stand under a shed and took the umbrella only slightly out … I placed it against neutral background and set the settings of the camera so as to completely blur it… this way that single drop could really pop… then you don’t need to know the number of shots I did to have only this one the way I wanted it… the perfect drop that gracefully flashes and is gone in a split second… so beautiful and so transient…
thank you once again for your comment, Mabel 🙂
Aha, so it was raining cats and dogs while you shot the photo. Never would have guessed. The things you do to get the perfect shot 🙂 No wonder your photos are so full of feeling and emotion, I get pulled into looking at each one of them.
When I’m out taking photos even with my point-and-shoot, I find myself taking lots of shots of the same subject 🙂
to know you find the photos full of feeling and emotion is the sweetest compliment ever… thank you, Mabel!!
A great bw work. Congrats.
thank you, I’m happy you like the shot!!
Great shot! Love that tiny drop from the umbrella..unfortunately here is too – rainy and windy day… 😦
I hope you have a sunny weekend then, Inda 🙂 thanks for stopping by!!
Tough shot, done so very well! B&W is apt too. The ‘blurred into smooth pulp’ background is fantastic… the rain-via-umbrella-drop can stand out! Excellent conveying of the mood, while maintaining a fine-art feel to the image! Continuous mode?
Knowing how much you love the Blur (as I do), I bet you would’ve loved an even wider aperture to blur out the metal spoke even more. 🙂
Kishore, I am so happy to read all your comments, always so interesting and thoughtful… !!!
Not continuous mode, I have never used it, I use the back focus button that I have on the 7D, I really shoot fast lol 🙂
this is a very special and emotional shot for me and am very happy you like it…
thank you 🙂
Possibly a companion shot . . . a set of hands, strong enough, yet soft enough, to catch that drop.
such set of hands is possibly the best thing I can hope to have by my side…
thank you kindly!! 🙂
