my friend Maria…
she looks sweet and pretty
she sure is 🙂 thank you, Bernie!
What a lovely and delicate portrait of your friend !
Maria is just lovely and this portrait turned out kinda poetic.. thank you so much 🙂
thank you, Rajiv!!
This is a nice photo with her eyes close like that
I like it with her eyes closed too, kinda dreamy… especially with the hair misplaced by the wind like that across her face… thanks, Nelson!!
Lovely photo of your friend Maria. Her eyes closed, she looks so peaceful, like she has no troubles in the world. Great BW too. Not too overwhelming, not too many dark shadows. It actually looks like a very candid shot to me. I hope you your and your friend had a good time that day.
thank you for the lovely comment, Mabel 🙂 I am never sure when it comes to BW conversion… especially for portraits… but this is one of the things I love about shooting with friends, they give me the freedom to try out new things and learn… 🙂 I also like that natural expression on her face… most of the posed ones didn’t turn out right 🙂
I’m never good at BW conversation. Sometimes certain corners turn out too dark, others too light for my liking. But you did that very well in this photo 🙂 Friends will always be friends. The real ones will do anything for us. You friend was very sporting, letting you take photos of her. Maybe she’s your muse 🙂
I have photographed Maria on one other occasion too, the woman catching the snowflakes here: https://alexpavlova.com/2013/12/24/recap-2013-portraits/
so you are right, Mabel, friends are always the greatest inspiration 🙂
I followed the link and saw some OUTSTANDING portraits – not only the composition and image-quality and colors, but also how it brought out personalities (even if the subjects are strangers to me).
Thank you!! ♥ but please, keep in mind that these are only the good ones… the flops are way way more and ima not showing them lol 🙂
thank you, am glad you like it!!
You’re back! 🙂
What a lovely portrait.
I’m back, the missing persons police got me back here…and, honestly, I was most happy to be found 🙂
thank you, Lignum!!!
Beautiful woman, beautiful black & white portrait.
Maria’s really beautiful… I really hope the shot does her justice… thank you, Meho!! 🙂
Delicate and beautiful are the first two words that came to my mind when I looked at the portrait. And…yes, B&W definitely does it justice 🙂
thank you kindly, Ese, I really hope so 🙂
Brilliant composition and – by now, your usual – shallow DOF! Maria looks as if she’s enjoying the fresh air and the world. Over-sharpened a tad, perhaps?
I applied some selective sharpening to bring out individual freckles and some detail in the background… but when I compressed the image to the size I posted it here, it may have brought it out additionally and looks overshaprened a bit indeed… love your precious comments, Kishore, thank you!!! 🙂
It think it would be fairer to say that I’ve lately been over-sensitive to that aspect, than to say that the pics. were over-sharpened. 🙂 My main comment about the portrait is that it’s wonderful, like all your portrait work.
lol don’t you worry… 🙂 your constructive and straightforward comments have always helped me move in the right direction, Kishore… I just hope my photos deserve all the time you spend on them 🙂 thank you sooo much once again!!
will you tell me why you have been concerned with oversharpening lately? I’ve checked your stream on Flickr several times in the past few days but no new photos there…
Beautiful portrait shot… absolutely expressive… 🙂
thank you, Sreejith!!
That’s a lovely portrait
happy you like it!!
