I saw the smaller version of this on today’s post and had to click to see what was typed on the page…I’m a bit nosy. 🙂
this is actually the photo that gave the name of this blog… “The three dots”… I am not very good at using words and often the most important things are in the ellipsis… photos are my three dots and express everything I can’t put to words… thank you for visiting this far in my blog, Chris!
Love this photos! I wish I still have this “ancient” type writer! It such a great subject for photography..
indeed, things of old times are always so interesting to photograph…thank you so much Indah 🙂
Nice to find an explanation for the three dots 🙂
My daughter just had an old portable typewriter reconditioned and has started sending typed letters to people. And is shooting film. My son shoots film, listens to vinyl, records music onto tape. They are not uncommon young people. I am an old fart and have returned to film (though nothing will drag me back to a typewriter). The analogue revolution is coming!
do you go out to take pictures together with your daughter and son? I bet it would be so much fun… especially if they have your eye and skill in photography 🙂
yes, this is the explanation to the three dots 🙂 sometimes words just escape us, and sometimes they are just not enough… especially when it comes to mood 🙂
Interesting question. We have never had film cameras going at the same time, not too sure why – I should arrange it sometime.
Their purpose in shooting tends to be different than mine. My son does portraits, usually related to music – CD covers, that kind of thing, or people at work – he is a musician first but has a very good eye for people shots. My daughter takes child and other snap shots mostly but also has a very good eye. Neither of them can afford a lot of film or processing which might contribute to us not coinciding.
I sent my son off with an Olympus Stylus Epic point and shoot and some expired Kodak Gold on his latest tour around western Canada. It will be interesting to see what comes of that.
wow, I can only imagine the fantastic results if the three of you go out together shooting… you can even take shots of the same things/people and then compare results… it will be fascinating… 🙂 I really hope the three of you get toghether with your cameras, will be lookin forward to that 🙂 🙂
I guess we should consider it – I don’t think we have ever done anything artistic/creative together for a variety of reasons. Here is a recent example of my son’s photography: http://bit.ly/1r3kybP
LOVE it 🙂 I wonder how much of your talent your son has got… you two seem to share the love for simple and strong compositions, that’s for sure 🙂 thanks so much for sharing this photo… 🙂
Makes me think of beat poets in the 1950’s, speeding on benzedrine, typing as fast as their heartrate.
these photos gave my blog its name, the three dots 🙂
I certainly wanted to capture the hectic process of typing and putting one’s thoughts to paper in the left image…typing as fast as their heartrate sounds beautiful… thank you!!
See your images, “talk”!
